My Presidency

Franklin Delano Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945. I had only been his vice president for eighty-two days. He did not communicate to me very much about the worldly affairs or politics that were going on after I became sworn in as vice-president. I was later told about important initiatives relating to the war. For example, I was told about the top secret "Manhattan Project," where the world's first atomic bomb was going to be tested.
